An unassuming conical form, the Solar Cone is an immersive experience that reveals itself only to those intrepid observers willing to peer inside. Through the circular viewfinder, one can witness the aureate glow of the warm bulb, hidden behind a mottled hemisphere of thermoform plastic. The textural quality of the dome owes itself to the recycling of melted scrap particles fused to one another, referencing the cyclical nature of product and material lifelines. Separating the viewer's eye from the faraway glow is the swirling matte black cone interior, creating an illusion of receding space, further pushing the impression of a cyclical wormhole, not unlike the intense gravitational pull of the sun.
